Riddle 57 – Lockdown project by Double Elephant Print Workshop, June/July 2020

Double Elephant print Workshop's lockdown project brings together poets, historians, animators and printmakers to turn a 1000 year old riddle into an animated interactive encounter. Riddle 57 is one of 94 from the Exeter Book, a tenth-century anthology of poetry in Exeter Cathedral's library, recognised by UNESCO as one of the world's principal cultural artefacts

The air bears little beings over craggy hills, remarkably black they are, cloaked in shadow darkly
