Masterclass: Solarplate Printing at the Hepworth Wakefield Museum – April 2019

Printmaking with Light Masterclass: Solarplate Printing at the Hepworth Wakefield Museum 27-28 April 2019 10.30am - 4pm   Join artist Susie Turner for an in-depth introduction to Solarplate printmaking in this two day masterclass. Solarplate printmaking is the process of printing from light sensitive plates that can be exposed using daylight or an artificial source of UV light. The technique offers fine detail and versatility in image making using hand-drawn originals, photographs and found material. Participants will be guided in experimenting with different methods, developing and printing plates suitable for intaglio, relief and blind emboss printing, taking inspiration from the garden and grounds surrounding the gallery. You are welcome to bring pre-pressed foliage or other items to use in your prints – the artist will advise on this in advance.
