Introduction to Printmaking with Photopolymer plates
A two day course with Susie Turner MA at the Curwen Print Study Centre, Chilford Hall, Linton, Cambridge CB21 4LE
This two day workshop aims to provide an in-depth introduction to solar plate printmaking using Toyobo water washable light sensitive plates. This simple and safe method of printmaking offers fine detail and a wide tonal range using photographic imagery, hand drawn or painted originals and found material. Through out the course participants will have the opportunity to experiment with techniques of intaglio, relief and blind emboss using both natural sunlight and a UV exposure unit to develop plates. Some preparation of artwork in advance of course would be useful but not essential. Suitable for beginners and those keen to experiment further with solar plate.
